kode dubstep

Aug. 5th, 2008 | 09:26 pm
mood: busy busy

If you read back a little you'll find my bass club announcements.
Bass Club has had 9 issues meanwhile (details cf. myspace) and they were fun, mostly. There is a general sound issue at that place. Right now Bass Club is on hold for a variety of reasons, the sound being a major one.
Instead i am organzing a pure Dubstep night at a different venue, with much better sound.
The first edition immediately had twice as many visitors as the best attended Bass Club even though we had no headliner comparable to the Bass Club line ups. Which is about to change though.

You can download an excerpt of my set at that first party here.
Also check the neat flyers, courtesy of Randy Fischer, also staff member of Club Atomino.

new mix online

Mar. 26th, 2008 | 01:04 pm

Our very own dj crew Ruff-E-Nuff turned six lately. We had a party with World Champion Dancehallsound LP International and LA jungle/dubstep veteran 6Blocc here. We also gave away a new mix of ours. It features tracks selected by all us 4 djs.
Actually it is sort of merged from two battle segments. Dancehall vs. Dubstep followed by Ragga Jungle vs. HipHop. Fahda Sensi plays almost exclusively dubplates for his Sensi Movement sound or remixes while I stick with some of the past month's biggest dubstep tracks in my opinion.
Likewise D.I.S is playing unreleased ragga jungle stuff while Motorv8a spins tracks that stood the test of time.
It was funm mixing this thing (and a challenge too). Hope listening is fun as well.

fahda sensi vs. geroyche
01 bugle - what i’m gonna do
02 bramma - from dem [dub]
03 bramma - stand alone [dub]
04 bramma - value of a lady [dub]
05 kromestar - hungry dub [crater 004]
06 peter tosh - legalize it (east coast remix) [war 002]
07 tes la rok - gunshot (juju remix) [narco.hz 008]
08 mavado - chat too much [dj rudebway rmx]
09 busy signal & mavado - badman place [vinyl shotz rmx]
10 mavado - gangsta [rmx]
11 bramma - action [dub]
12 benga & coki - night [tempa 030p]
13 the bug feat. warrior queen - poison dart (skream remix) [ninja tune 202x]
14 mala - lean forward [dmz 012]
15 mavado - squeeze her breast [rmx]
16 mavado - phone call [phoenix rmx]
17 aidonia - reload [phoenix rmx]
18 dr.evil - it’s dr.evil [vinyl shotz rmx]
19 kode 9 - magnetic city [soul jazz 161-12]
20 l-wiz - cowboy universal [redvolume 004]
21 6blocc - murderer [bootshake 007]

d.i.s vs. motorv8a
01 jah konda - we at war
02 general malice - strictly roots
03 foxy brown ft. barrington levy - mr. dj
04 tester - blind to you
05 nas - nas surviving the times
06 d.i.s - culture
07 Styles p (feat. jadakiss) - how we live
08 direct feed - scalp dem
09 fabolous brooklyn (feat. jay z and uncle murda)
10 general malice - i luv it
11 paulie walnuts - jah jah run tingz
12 krs one - sound of the police
13 krinjah - smoke weed

the kids are dancing

Sep. 24th, 2007 | 09:02 pm
mood: bouncy bouncy
now playing:: Yo Gabba Gabba - Party in My Tummy

A couple of weeks ago Gusset brought this new Nickelodeon show to my attention. It seems they got their selves a really funny hit.

Yo Gabba Gabba! is a show focused on music and dancing, aiming at elementary school kids.
It's beyond awesome, as some minutes on youtube will undoubtedly make you realize. That link will also provide video results for actual kids dancing to the show as they watch it on tv, which are no less fun :)

The show features really proper (oldschool) hip hop/party beats, fun puppets, star guests (one star guests is dancing with the puppets in every episode). It has everything that used to make kid's television exciting.
Here's to give you an idea:

The best part, well for a non-american anyway, is that I've recently come across this tv streaming solution that lets you stream nickelodeon (us) among other channels (comedy central (us) [hello Colbert Report!], fox news [yay! ;)], cbs, ...).

TVU Networks is technically supposed to even allow you to just stream the stations in your browser but their site has been experiencing technically issues lately. There is a stand-alone player however that works just fine (without any firewall hassle for instance). The download site is defunct right now too (whatever is up with their site?) but i guess google can help a fella out there.

Yo Gabba Gabba is on weekdays at 10:30am pacific, 7:30pm uk, 8:30pm cet (i.e. I started writing this article right after having watched today's episode, which featured an uptempo two-tone ska song on cleaning up your room :)

Now go and dance!

cut the strings remix

Mar. 3rd, 2007 | 12:07 am
mood: amused amused

I contributed a remix to Echorausch's installment of the Voxxx Series A last autumn. Sadly, and to my financial loss ;), the record went a little bit unnoticed. Anyhow, a few months back a film student approached me about doing a music video.
She was required to do so for one of her courses, and to actually work with the artist rather than just visualize some track she knows.
Since she likes my music she chose me. I gladly accepted and suggest to use my Echorausch remix for that.
She on the other hand had the idea of picking up the setting of that promo photo of me that you may know from myspace or elsewhere.
She came here sometime in early February and the shoot was fun.

Ladies and gentlemen: Echorausch - Cut the Strings (Geroyche Remix) (sadly, there seems to be no way to simply embed it here)

eclectic fun

Jan. 6th, 2007 | 05:07 pm

Dear diary,

last night was fun. I played my first live gig in ages. And even though it seems that the time of this laptop is slowly coming to an end (I had numerous audible difficulties), people really dug what I played (playing the first jungle breaks after 3 hours of idm and dubstep is a thankful job ;).

Other artists on the line-up included Noize Creator (it is always nice to see Stefan), Vegan Cannibal (a young new record store owner from Dresden who throws Dubstep parties there and DJs that sound) plus idm live acts and more dubstep DJs. All on one floor. It was the first event for the organizers in what will now surely turn into a series. The turnout was great, the crew enthusiastic (live visuals on 3 projectors, 4 liveacts, 3 DJs... 4 euro entry...). I was granted my wish to join them again next time, then as a dubstep DJ.

Everybody was happy.

I would almost not have gotten there though, even if it was only an hour away. I lacked a driver for my original driver fell sick. Luckily it turned out Sebastian from the Suckers was in town.  So he drove me there and got to hear me play live in return :) Unfortunately his cam is broken so I will have to wait and see what pics the organizers took (did I ever mention I still have no digicam?).

The Suckers btw played New Year's in Poland. They had to return by train because their car got stolen. Thank god their gear, this ever growing collection, was not in the trunk (make it 'boot' if you like ;) anymore. Being the liberal, open person I am I like to discard many things as prejudices. But from all the stories I hear there is something to the notion that Poland still is no safe place to travel by car. So be advised, diary, if you ever intend to go there. ;)

Tonight is gonna be way more quiet, but maybe not less exciting.

a random soundtrack to my life

Oct. 12th, 2006 | 10:19 am
mood: awake awake

so i participated in one of those myspace bulletins, but hey,
i just got home from a lecture and have time on my hands.
so why not...
the idea is the load your whole media library, put it on random mode
and just assign the first tracks that come up to these sections in order
of appearance. no cheating.

it was fun, that's why i publish it here too :)

Opening Credits:
Squarepusher - chunks-s
[Music is rotted one note]
track 01 from the album, how fitting

Waking Up:
Super Cat - Too Greedy
[Real Rock Riddim]

First Day At School:
Racoon - Vampire Boogie
[unreleased Dead Metropolis Oldie]
i guess that's kind of when he made it ;)

Falling In Love:
Desperado - Have some fun
[Greensleeves Rhythm Album #34]
hehehe.

Fight Song:
The Rootsman vs. Muslimgauze - Gaza (Parts 1 &2)
[City of Djinn]
this is begining to get scary

Breaking Up:
µ-Ziq aka Rude Ass Tinker - Silk Ties
[Bilious Paths]
"crack the stage and leave the audience damaged".
can't make this random stuff up :)

Prom:
Tim Buckley - Martha
[Sefronia]
AWWWWW.

Life:
Keith Fullerton Whitman (Hrvatski) - Part Two
[dartmouth street underpass - met life + locust]
hahaha, an underpass field recording with a strange constant sine. will i get tinitus?

Mental Breakdown:
Various - Get your freak on riddim megamix

Driving:
Amen Andrews vs Spac Hand Luke - Intelligent

Flashback:
LP Intl. vs Addies (1994) - Biltmore Ballroom N.Y.
yess! a biltmore clash!

Getting Back Together:
Ward 21- gal factory
[Battery Riddim Album]
hmm. better not cite the lyrics here ;)

Wedding:
Wevie Stonder - Stork
[eat your own ears]
Oh yeah!! Wevie Stonder live at my wedding!
Who wants to marry me?

Birth of Child:
Virus Syndicate - Wasted
[The Work Related Illness]
whatever that means.

Final Battle:
Frederik Schikowski - Track 014
[Live at Lux Nigra Noctu 02, 2001]

Death Scene:
Muslimgauze - Nazzareen
[Narcotic]
fight & death... muslimgauze came up at the right spots.

two guests in october

Sep. 7th, 2006 | 08:05 pm
mood: happy happy

Because a construction site is a construction site is a construction site, the opening of the new Atomino, where Slik and me will be in charge of sunday events, has been delayed. It will now open on November 1st it seems. This already crushed some plans for setting up shows with people touring through Germany.

Nevertheless i could still help in arranging two gigs for October at the Kapital.
I will dj there on October 1 to support Unit (did i ever mention how i am resposible for the fact that Bohnerwachs released his fantastic first album on vinyl years after the cd version? ;)
from New York, and October 29 at an evening with Karsten Pflum (yes, that is the Sunday of the Elevate festival - we will see if there is a way for me to attend both).

Both rank very high in my "idm" favourites list and i am glad these events happen! Excited in fact.
Karsten already offered to return the favour. mmm. Denmark.... :)

möbelwurf and sodastreuer

Jul. 4th, 2006 | 05:37 pm
mood: excited excited
now playing:: wisp

i am back from berlin since sunday evening.
a nice, mostly quiet weekend with friends.
quiet except for friday. after all i was in the city where the soccer world cup quarter final germany vs. argentina took place, and the place of the final
gig of the ziq100 tour.

the planet µ party was good fun. not as packed as wood (hehe) but a bit more diverse.
luckily aaron had put me on the guest list, which gave me some headroom for drinks :)

vex'd opened the event at midnight (later than supposed, but remember, germany had beaten argentina that night),
a bit too quiet i dare say, with a nice decks'n'fx set. i would have hoped for a wee bit more new vex'd material, but well.
things got louder (aaron called the sound guy a "very angry man" and "unapproachable", heh) with tim exile but i didn't pay close attention.
i hadn't seen µ-ziq before. this set here seemed like an acknowledgment of the the fact that vsnares was on afterwards. starting off with ease up v.i.p (yes, the whole thing)
he got ruffer and ruffer. basically a kid spatula set, very hellfish influenced, very gabba.
aaron's set was longer than and a bit different from the set he had played at wood. i danced quite a bit, tried to stay clear of the pogo action though.
close to the end of this nearly 90min set it was almost too much though... i blame my lack of sleep ;)
of course there was also quite some meet&greet going on. once again i got the feeling that i talk to at least as many people at any berlin party as i do here. heh.
it was nice.

i also did a bit, tiny bit, of record shopping.
i am really excited about r&s making bits of their back catalogue available again.
i picked up ken ishii's "extra" (the one with the amazing anime video!) and µ-ziq's "phi*1700/(u/v)". this stuff (well except for the techno remixes of extra) feels *so* good :)

the more quiet part of the weekend included a game of scrabble. now that i have played scrabble both in english and german, i often think about how different the game feels
in german, compared to english.
as you know, germans are the masters of compound nouns (without blanks in between), so most of the fun and points comes out of creating compounds.
of course, after a few beer these get increasingly ridicolous and cause quite some discussions and mostly laughter.
the rules of course ask players to remain reasonable when creating compunds, but that would be no fun ;)
that aspect is more or less absent i guess in the english version.
my gut feeling also tells me there are more conjugations and declinations in german. a genitive -s always comes in handy to score some easy points :)

anyway, now i should get back to programming this website and cursing ie6, at least for a few more hours. then it's all about soccer :)

oh, i forgot to mention my current dilemma concerning the weekend around july 15.
should i spend 40 eur for a single-day ticket plus travel and food to see aphex twin, jamie lidell, the streets, nightmares on wax, herbert, ellen allien and more at the melt festival in between gigantic cranes? or should i go to the free festival of that brewery five minutes away from here, to see 2unlimited?!
hahaha.
i could let them sign all my cds, if they have the patience. though i assume it would be merely a guy and a girl performing under that name. i mean, it's been twelve years...

first thunderstorm

Apr. 26th, 2006 | 01:42 pm
mood: pensive pensive

as i am writing this, the first thunderstorm of the year is making rain drops fall on my windows quite heavily and
thunders roar.
i finished my remix for echorausch. just in time for the masterin at dubplates & mastering tomorrow morning,
since it is to be included on their new ep... voxxx series a.3

yes, that means i will be going to berlin tomorrow morning. i will stay in town until early friday evening. then i will
head to halle [i did just arrange the shared ride] and dj at the afterparty of a special super8 movie screening.
this way, by not coming home to chemnitz in between i can save money on trains and spend some time with dear friends in berlin.
the downside: i will have to carry the records for halle along already.

i look forward to those distractions, i have been a bit too pensive these last days.

monopol magazin, nicolai, drummond

Apr. 5th, 2006 | 01:43 pm
now playing:: sileni - cold sweat

so i was at the newspaper store this noon, after class, and a cover struck me.
obviously the importance of a cover for the sales figures of a magazine can not be overestimated.
this was the first case i remember where i myself bought a magazine that i had never heard of because
the cover caught my attention.

i ended up buying it, even though 7,50 euro is not exactly cheap.
reasons for my doing so were that it included a report on drawing restraint 9, the new movie
by matthew barney and björk, an interview with billy drummond (!), former klf member, a special
on what artists listen to in their ateliers, a long feature on roxy music and their cover artworks,
and other things that seemed worthwhile.

turns out my fellow ex-chemnitzer carsten nicolai also contributes to this mag. in several ways.
what really suprised me was to learn that he also is using it as a sales plattform.
readers can buy an exclusive dubplate. limited to 10. signed by the artist.

for the generous price of 530 euros each, 500 for subscribers.

in a similar way Gerwald Rockenschaub sells 15 cd-r entitled
"funky minimal" that also include a hand-made graphic for
1250 euro each.

i must admit i wasn't aware that such things exists.
and i don't mean dubplates and cd-rs.
i mean a market that pays 10 to 100 times the production costs
for something like that.
i am used to soulseek downloaders who don't buy cd-rs anymore ;)

i still find myself thinking about how to deal with this.
i guess a reasonable price is what people are willing to pay, so if that
market exists, good for mr. nicolai and co.
on the other hand selling cd-rs with 6 tracks ("between 3 and 5 minutes long") for 1250
euro...
well at least it all goes straight to the artist.
does anybody here want a hand-signed cd-r btw?
i promise mine will be longer and cheaper.

quite a contrast to the interview with billy drummond however, a man who
quite likely burnt a million quids one morning at 3 a.m.
turns out he is aware that scooter exists, but claims never to have heard any of
their oeuvres. he is perfoming choir music at home these days, with his choir called
the 17. they are 17, and sing 17 songs.
he even has a website these days, something i at least had not expected.

mood: calm calm
now playing:: claude debussy - music for oboe and harp

today was the day i decided that the benefits are more than the downsides.
i eventually joined last.fm
here is my profile

that may be a bit of a skewed picture since i listen to vinyl quite much and don't have that stuff on mp3 anyway.
but heck, i can still network and find neighbors :)

dubstep forward

Feb. 19th, 2006 | 01:36 am
mood: bouncy bouncy

UPDATE: corrected track 10 info.
I just learnt from the Hotflush Blog that the labels are interchanged.
Once you listen to the record with that knowledge it is totally obvious ;)

yes, i still owe me (and you readers) proper reports of my england and berlin holidays.

instead, here's the first dubstep mix i recorded.
did it live tonight. expect needle skips and 3 or 4 transitions that aren't totally smooth.
i kept it at 60mins, radio show length ;)

afterwards i realized that i didn't fully plan ahead and 'forgot' some of the scene's biggest tunes.
then i thought that again was quite nice.
brood, lion, 28g or neverland are probably being played in loads of other mixes anyway.

so here:
01 kode 9 + the space ape - kingstown [hyperdub 003]
02 random trio - prophecy [tectonic 004]
03 dj distance - saints 'n' sinners [boka 003]
04 l-wiz - habibi [storming/dub police 001]
05 scuba - thank u [hotflush/scuba 002]
06 dj kudos - b-town [sound proof 002]
07 coki - officer [dmz 004]
08 dj pinch & p dutty - war dub [tectonic 001]
09 appleblim - mystikal warrior [skull disco 001]
10 search and destroy - candyfloss (loefah remix) [hotflush remix 01]
11 loefah - root [dmz 006]
12 d1 - steam roller [soulja 008]
13 dj distance - empire [hotflush 008]
14 search and destroy - food chain [texture 008]
15 search and destroy - espionage [destructive 002]
16 moving ninja - lost tribe [tectonic 002]
17 skream - angry [ital 001]
18 scuba - timba [hotflush/scuba 001]
19 dj mex - deep [dpm 009]
20 dj distance - taipan [boka 004]

dug the crates

Jan. 31st, 2006 | 07:09 pm
mood: content content

before i continue to give some general impressions about my, now finished, visit to cambridge uk i shall use the innate structure that comes with record purchases to comment on my findings.
first and foremost i want to thank [info]radiotik for her virtually infinite patience. much appreciated.
unlike germany, the uk has a culture of charity shops. be it the quite renowned oxfam, british cancer research or some more or less unknown foundations that care for animals or whatnot.
they all have shops full of donated stuff. most of them have records too, none had a record player.
it was not unexpected that 95% were either classical or popular music from the 60s to 80s.
but occasionally i found some gems. gems to a guy that deejayed uk hardcore and tekkno from home-recorded tapes as a 12-year-old that is.
and some other stuff was too hard to resist too.
i can't really remember where i bought them individually. i have been to round about 9 charity shops in cambridge, and 3 or so in ely.
the price tags reveal that i eventually only bought at oxfam or british cancer research shops.

utah saints - something good 7"
that's what i was after! the stuff i was looking for.
the klf - 3 a.m. eternal (live at the s.s.l.) 7"
ditto... i even wore a klf button on my jacket that day.
gurmat sangeet sabha (uk) - shabad gurbani 12"
turbans and sunglasses. killer combination! front cover passport photographs
of the sikh band members were the main reason to instantly buy this one
the painting of guru tegh bahadur sitting there, awaiting his chosen beheading for the sake
of religious freedom, was a bonus. the music is really good. i am happy i bought it.
the shamen - jesus loves amerika 12"
sounds just as i expected. even though i had no knowledge about the shamen's sound
prior to 'move any mountain' etc. early sampling-galore (us t.v. preachers etc...) techno
    with an attitude.
osso exotico - I (live for nato asi on advances in rockfill structures, lisbon, june 1990) 12"
this was the first mystery i came across. a cover full of stones.
center-fold with laboratory pictures. interesting instruments credited
in the liner notes. it felt exciting.
an experimental release, turns out the debut of a group which later
released on labels such as staalplaat and namskeio.
    dark and abstract.
the torero band - lennon & mccartney tijuana style 12"
this sounded too tempting not to buy it.
    make every afternoon tequilla-worthy.
the muppet show 12"
who could resist a cover with kermit, a center fold with lots of muppet pictures, and the prospect of owning mahna, mahna on vinyl? not me.

i also went into regular music shops, chain stores even, not exactly crate digging i reckon, except for that one resale shop, where i browsed through tons of
old records. virtually the last of all was the single one i bought.
shut up and dance feat. peter bouncer - raving, i'm raving 7"
based on marc cohn's "walking in memphis", this was the last suad record ever
 has been covered by scooter.

as for the chain stores, most of them were boring and had no vinyl. hmv however, oh, hmv.
their vinyl section featured a special crate for simply 12. i had never heard of them, apparently they operate in the uk only (?).
they re-issue hard to find records, nearly always with the original tracklists, but in a corporate design.
best of all, they only cost 3,99 each, or, as a special hmv campaign, 10 pounds for every 3 items.
i picked up
human resource - dominator
bizarre inc - playing with knives
fpi project - rich in paradise
again, all of these are subject of my constant admiration
and fond memories about how i made my fellow 12-year-old school mates dance :)
    and then there was a special sl-2 12" ...
on a ragga tip/djs take control/way in my brain

on one record!
all of those loud, new, dj friendly 45 rpm pressings. i am not the collector type, who ignores represses to find some scratched, 2nd hand 1st issues by all means.
i was very very happy. my excitement was completed by the friendly girl at the counter who forgot to charge me for the 4th 12", probably because they all
looked the same and she was busy with manageing the 3 for 10 discount. i intended to come back on my last day and pick up three more, guru josh - infinity,
nomad - devotion and 808 state - pacific state maybe... but by then i was way over budget ;)

that completes my cambridge purchase list.
last saturday we went to london. on the markets and/or in shops on the streets of camden town i bought

boom bip - mannequin hand - trapdoor i Reminder 12"
lyric feat. general levy - perm 12"
this record is crap. bought it because of the good stand mr. levy has, or had.
uk garage, aimed at a charts-audience, with really stupid female vocals.
might well be part of the reason why original garage wore out after one summer.
malcolm mclaren - buffalo gals 7"
we had listened to this track like the day before. and here it was. a must purchase.
edelweiss - bring me edelweiss 12"

so if you really love me you should bring me edelweiss.
colportedly the most successful attempt ever, scooter set aside, to follow the manual.
    i have always loved it.
various production - sir / in this 7"

the newest record i had bought until then.
2 pounds for a near mint copy of this record. beautiful sleeve, as always. hell yeah.
capitol k / jega [planet µ ziq015] 7"

ooooooooooooooooooh. the first µ 7". limited to 200 copies.
100 of which may or may not have a  cover.
the additional 100 were sold in one shop only.
i payed 3 pounds for my near mint copy.
thank you! what more could i possibly have asked for?

final purchasements were made at bmsoho, former blackmarket. i was deliberately looking for dubstep that was out of stock, or unknown white labels.
i must say their pricing is not very attractive for a german customer, especially since their shop prices are way above the mailorder pendants.
so i tried to avoid buying records that i could surely pick up in germany. i was a bit surprised by the concept of the stores (both bmsoho and uptown).
there is virtually no backstock. no crates to dig. every record is presented on the wall. my hopes to pick up older big apple or dmz stuff had quickly been crushed.
not much to say on the ones i bought. proper dubstep that i can now delete from my hard disk.

dj distance - fallen/taipan 12"
applebim/shakleton -  mystical warrior/i am animal 12"
search and destroy - espionage/killamanjaro 12"
dj kudos - the city ep 12"

now we're talking! some ultra fresh white label that might never reach germany.
heavyweight bass, sparks of acid. some patois toasting on one of 3 tracks.
    right down my alley.

believe it or not, we're through.
it took me 2 hrs to write this.... damn.

the show will go on / russian diner

Jan. 11th, 2006 | 10:35 pm

The first two Geroyche live shows for 2006 are confirmed!

For one, MFOC have invited me to play at the Golden Pudel Club again (i am honoured). My mate Slik and me will be joined by exile-Chemnitzer Leekon, part of the Beta Bodega Crew. Catch us there on Sunday, February 12 if you can... and if we can get there ;) ... we'll go straight from Berlin, since we are going to spend the preceding week mostly at Club Transmediale 2006.

On March 3 i will travel in the opposite direction. The people who organized Lab.30 have invited me to Augsburg. My last stay in Bavaria must have been 10 years ago, with my class, 3 days in Bamberg ;)

In other news, everbody is all about dubstep wars@breezeblock. A mighty 2hrs of white label action from the leaders of the pack.
Listen to the stream over at that website or be patient and invest maybe 50 tries (i did) till this link finally works (heavy serverload there).

Even less related... my day so far:
I went to help Slik who is currently moving out of his flat, also because the wooden floor in the bath room is rotting away. Turns out, as in many other places, this was some sloppy early nineties reconstruction work. Today we mainly moved his record collection. He is a loooong time dj. Some on-the-fly discoveries were bound to get me all excited ;)
I saw Techno Trax 2LP, the Mr. Lee album and some other stuff... and that was only because they were at the front of some boxes... i wasn't actually browsing his collection.

He also found a picture of him and Robert Armani, a Marusha autograph on a flyer for a DT64 benefit party with Joey Beltram in 91 and a small poster for that large tekkkkno rave....erm... forgot the exact name.... the one where 'lx empire' (he later changed his name a bit, go figure ;) performed. That poster was particulary interesting to me, because a large version of it was hanging in [info]societysuckers first room i know :)

After all of that we went to a small russian diner. I always wanted to go there, but didn't so far. A really small hut, painted with russian art from the outside, filled with all the stuff you'd
expect inside. We had fried piroshki and pelmeni with sour cream and parsley. Meanwhile, which means roundabout half an hour, the mother of the woman actually running the diner was
constantly on the phone (3 calls i think) talking to lord knows whom in a quite vivid manner. We felt like being in some Russian village ;)

a document

Jan. 7th, 2006 | 03:02 am

this happened much too rarely. but luckily it did that time.
my last proper dj set at the voxxx ever, it took place on christmas, has been recorded by alex hessel (echorausch).
the recording consists of two parts basically.
the first 50 minutes were my dj set that opened the night. the first 3 tracks of that set weren't recorded though.
after 50 mins you'll hear me switch off the record player. then alexander wendt played an unrecorded live set.
afterwards i deejayed once more. again, not all of that was recorded, only 15 minutes (some initial tracks are missing), and i was
obviously kind of drunk already ;)
get it here

there's no tracklist. expect stuff ranging from murcof, deaf center, kettel over bitstream and kode9 to acid wolf, modeselektor and analord.
comments appreciated.
